If y'all was capable of getting it, it wouldn't need explaining"
This is a #RoseGivingTribute that is long overdue and I am disappointed with myself that it's taken so long. The woman I'll be highlighting here is one of the most loving, nurturing, caring and investing people I have been blessed to have in my life. Cousin Debbie since I was a child you've went above and beyond for me in ways you didn't have to. You are the godmother to my brother, and that's the only reason I know what a great godparent is. Even though you weren't mine, when I think of a godmother I think of you. There was always enough love in your heart to make sure I never felt left out, even as you gave my brother so much love and investment. You have never dropped the ball with doing whatever you could, when you could. I just wanna take a moment to tell you that what you give daily to this world and the people in it you love is a monumental asset to all of our lives. You are an unsung hero. Always and forever being you and effecting peoples lives in ways that they rarely ever fully process. You might get an occasional thank you, or a card or some other token of appreciation, when you should be getting Lifetime Achievement Awards and celebrations in your honor. You went through a health crisis recently and it hurts my soul that I couldn't be there for you like you've always been for me. Even after that you're still caretaking for one of our remaining elder matriarchs which I am going to personally say thank you for. We all age and we all wonder who will care for us when we do. Anybody could take on a job, but most are content to allow someone else to do so. I love you, and if you'll have me I would like to be your godson. I promise to love and care for you to the very best of my ability like you always have for everyone else. Thank you so much for being someone worthy of emulating. Thank you for the #EverydayMilestone of being you.
