September is a rough month for you, but today is a significant one. Leading up to your ReBirth Day today, is an anniversary of loss for you of your cousin Khalid. I remember how hurt and devastated you in were that day, and I know how heavily loss effects you. I remember worrying about you and wondering if this would be a tipping point for you to fall back into patterns of self destruction that you wouldn't be able to easily climb back from, but you didn't. You stayed your course and here you are today. Today I know hurts, but I am proud of you for facing the pain clear headed and remembering your cousin and honoring his memory. I can't speak for him, but I am going to believe wholeheartedly that he would be as proud of you as I am right now. I believe he would thank you for carrying so much love for him in your heart and using that love as fuel in a positive way instead of a negative. You didn't tarnish your memory of him by using him as an excuse, and I thank you for that. Difficult days will always exist. How we choose to step into them is the message our story will always tell. It won't always be easy to stand alone in a world full of pain from every angle, but stand until you no longer can. Don't think about it just do it (sorry Nike not plagiarizing). I promise you that you'll surprise yourself with your strength and the abilities that you don't recognize inside of you. Necessity brings forth much, and it's a necessity that you constantly bring forth the very best version of you, because it's needed in the worst way possible. You have and continue to live life from a vantage point that few people ever will, and there is danger there that you've survived that millions haven't. Keep shining light on what needs to be seen. Keep stepping forward despite the pain. Keep surviving the dark, the light is in sight. Thank you for another day. #SurvivingTogether
