This is a special shout out to the man who has been my spiritual advisor since I was 18 years old. First and foremost let me say thank you, because I know more than anyone how challenging of a task that is. Today is your very 1st Birthday out of prison in over 30 years and I am extremely happy that you get to experience what you've waited and patiently prayed for, for just as many years. Out of all the people I know I can honestly say that you're freedom is well deserved. On the basketball court (and any other competitive arena) you know I hate you :-) But outside of that you are a glowing and shining example of what human decency and a capacity to change truly manifest itself as in physical form. You told me when you got your freedom that you cried for days. It is my hope that your tears of joy have not yet ceased. You are enjoying life and living it as it is truly meant to be lived and I am not just happy for and with you, but I am proud of you as well. You have earned your moment and your flowers a billion times over, and I hope that every breath you take up to your very last is filled with joy, peace and love. The world has yet to fully experience the blessing that your existence is, and when it does everyone's life will be more fulfilled by what you freely give. Let nothing set or turn you back. Not judgements, doubts, and please not sports lol. You are one of the greatest people I know, and one of the most powerful mentoring forces I've ever been blessed to encounter. I watched you continue to be who you have been called to be, despite circumstances meant to diminish and destroy your soul. You never failed to step up to the call of being the leader and light that was needed in this dark and depressing environment. I believe that because of your diligence in being you, your freedom is your eternal gift and reward. Happy Birthday Greg.
